According to AS, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has shifted its strategy concerning Kylian Mbappé, with no intention of discussing a contract extension.

AS reports that the path seems clear for Real Madrid to sign Mbappé when he becomes a free agent on June 30. PSG is reportedly not in a hurry to present a renewal offer, citing the inability to compete with the exceptional financial conditions Mbappé enjoys.

However, PSG hopes Mbappé will stay and contribute to building a short-term future project around him. To persuade Mbappé to activate the extension clause, PSG will emphasize that issues with Neymar have been resolved since the latter’s departure, according to AS.

Real Madrid asserts it won’t initiate negotiations before January 1, and if Mbappé hasn’t extended by then, the club can proceed within FIFA regulations. Mbappé could potentially earn a €35 million salary at Real Madrid.
