In a widely circulated video on social media, Trippier was observed talking to some traveling Magpies fans after the 2-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
Clearly disturbed, Trippier questioned the fans, saying, « How many injuries have we got? »
Speaking to Sky Sports after the incident, he acknowledged, « The fans are emotional. They’ve traveled a long way. I had a conversation with one of them, assuring them that we are putting in our best effort, and there’s no need to panic.
« We suffered a defeat, and we apologize for that result, but the lads are giving everything. »
