Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, finds himself in a delicate situation as the provincial court of Madrid demands a sentence of four years and nine months in prison for tax fraud, according to Revelo.

The allegations stem from supposed tax irregularities amounting to over one million euros between 2014 and 2015, during his first stint at the club.

The public prosecutor’s office accuses Ancelotti of two offenses related to the failure to declare his image rights in Spain. Ancelotti’s trial began this Wednesday.

However, despite this challenging situation, there is hope for Ancelotti. Xabi Alonso was acquitted a few months ago in a similar case dating back to the same period (2015), which could provide some confidence for the Real Madrid coach.

Ancelotti reiterated this week that he has nothing to reproach himself for, describing it as an administrative issue. « It’s an old story that started eight years ago when the prosecutor thought I was a resident, and I don’t think I was a resident. I’ve already paid the fine, the money is already with the prosecutor. Lawyers are discussing to find a solution. I’m convinced that I’m innocent, that I wasn’t a resident in 2015, they think so. Let’s see what the judge says, » responded the Italian coach.
