At that time, the Portuguese footballer had reportedly paid nearly €320,000 to secure the accuser’s silence. According to Sky Sport reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s lawyers will have to defend their client in court once more.
The accuser has taken her case to an appeals court, seeking additional compensation from Ronaldo. It’s important to note that a U.S. judge had dismissed this request in 2022. Cristiano Ronaldo has consistently maintained that his relationship with his accuser was consensual.
The 2009 case had garnered significant media attention at the time, but it was resolved with the payment mentioned above to halt the legal proceedings.
