During the match between Sevilla FC and Rayo Vallecano (2-1), former Marseille player Lucas Ocampos fell victim to an incident involving a Rayo Vallecano supporter. Taking advantage of Ocampos being near the touchline, the fan brazenly inserted a finger into Ocampos’ buttocks.
After the game, Luis Ocampos commented on the incident: « I believe the television footage speaks for itself, and I hope the League takes this seriously, as they do with racism or other similar matters. I don’t think all Rayo players are like this because they always treat us with respect, but there is always one idiot. »
« I hope this doesn’t happen in other areas, because if it happens in women’s football, we know what could happen. I restrained myself because I have two daughters, and I hope that tomorrow this won’t happen to them, that the necessary measures will be taken, and that such an idiot won’t tarnish the image of the fans, who have behaved very well, » he added in an interview with radio Cadena COPE.

Sevilla FC also issued a statement regarding the incident: « Sevilla FC deeply regrets the incident that occurred on Monday during the match against Rayo Vallecano, in which our player Lucas Ocampos was subjected to an obscene and entirely inappropriate gesture by a local supporter. Sevilla FC hopes that appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the regulations to ensure that this type of behavior does not repeat itself on a football field, and has informed LaLiga. Such gestures and behaviors should not be allowed in our competition if we aspire to be the best league in the world. Finally, Sevilla FC expresses its full support to Lucas Ocampos, who showed professionalism despite the unacceptable behavior of the fan who shouted at him. »
