Lisandro Martínez, the Manchester United player, is set to undergo a second surgery on his broken metatarsal.

This upcoming operation has been scheduled for next week, as reported by Chris Wheeler. Following the surgery, it is expected that Martínez will be out of action for around two to three months while he recovers.

Lisandro Martínez initially sustained his metatarsal injury during a Europa League match against Sevilla in April. He was sidelined for approximately 11 weeks due to this injury. However, he worked diligently to regain his fitness during the pre-season and managed to participate in Manchester United’s pre-season tour of America, as well as the first four Premier League matches of the season. Unfortunately, it now appears that he will require a second surgery related to the same injury.

« It’s understood the former 25-year-old former Ajax defender took painkillers to play in the subsequent games against Brighton and Bayern Munich, and further tests on Thursday revealed that the fracture has not healed correctly », Daily Mail explains.
