Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new shareholder in Manchester United, is gearing up for a major revamp in the management and recruitment strategies of the club.

Set for Monday, billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe will finalize the acquisition of a 25% stake in Manchester United, involving an investment of approximately €1.5 billion. Upon his arrival, the Englishman plans to instigate significant changes. According to The Sun, the 71-year-old billionaire aims to address both the overall management and the club’s recruitment policy. His primary focus is on recent transfer activities, which have seen several high-profile flops, accumulating a total expenditure of €1.6 billion.

Players like Romelu Lukaku (€85 million), Paul Pogba (over €100 million), Jadon Sancho, Angel Di Maria, Anthony Martial, and Donny van de Beek have all faced challenges at United. Consequently, the British billionaire intends to make decisive moves within the recruitment department. Key figures such as Richard Arnold (CEO), John Murtough (Director of Football), and David Harrison (Director of Football Operations) are all under threat, as they have overseen significant purchases since Ed Woodward’s departure.

Additionally, Ratcliffe reportedly has Erik Ten Hag in his sights. The INEOS boss is said to be planning player exits in January, with Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Anthony Martial on the potential departure list. »
