Victor Wembanyama, the French basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs, has emerged as a devoted Paris Saint-Germain supporter, showcasing the club’s growing global renown.
During a press conference, the player, often nicknamed « the alien » due to his imposing height of 7 feet 4 inches, expressed his allegiance to PSG, stating that it is his favorite football team.
When asked about his relationship with teammate Jeremy Sochan, an Arsenal fan, Wembanyama jokingly remarked, « Yes, we sometimes talk about football. My team is PSG, of course! But yes, Jeremy was probably the first to welcome me to the Spurs, even before I was drafted. I played against him a long time ago ».
« So, yes, we’ve known each other for a long time and get along well, but it’s a shame he’s an Arsenal supporter (laughs)! »
